UC Rusal improves structure and technological parameters of electrolytic furnace RA-400

UC Rusal, one of the world's leading aluminum producers, has announced implementation of a project to improve supermodern electrolytic furnaces RA-400. The improved construction of electrolytic furnaces and new technological options can reduce power consumption to 12 900 kWh /t with a current yield of 95.5% at a current intensity of 435 kA. The total amount of investments into development of the RA- 400 technology, including creation of experimental industrial building, made up about $70 million.
RA-400 is an own development of specialists of the UC Rusal’ Engineering and Technology Centre.
