Russia searches for alternative gas export transit route instead of the Ukraine
Currently Russia does not have any problems with gas transit to Europe but Gazprom discusses an ‘extra’ plan on the chance of appearance of the difficulties with gas supplies via the Ukraine, the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, A. Kruglov says.
Gazprom has stated several times that the Ukraine has almost stopped paying for gas. It can be the reason for cessation of Russian gas transit via the state. Gazprom claims that the active capacities including Yamal-Europe and Nord Stream can compensate for possible problems with gas transit via the Ukraine. Mr. Kruglov states that the recent events in the Ukraine had almost no influence on Gazprom’s financial plans.
