Gazprom Neft has chosen PetroVietnam

The Russian oil companies keep looking for new partners in Asia. To develop the Dolginsky deposit at the Arctic shelf Gazprom Neft will attract PetroVietnam. The latter has already worked in Russia but until now only on the surface. According to experts, the companies will be able to share risks of working at the shelf but the issue of PetroVietnam’s financing the project is still open.

Yesterday PetroVietnam and Gazprom Neft agreed on their joint development of the Dolginsky deposit at the shelf of the Pechora Sea. The development plan will be formed by May 2015, Gazprom Neft reported. The distribution of stakes in the project is not mentioned. Gazprom Neft will grant PetroVietnam the information on the deposit as well as for half a year it won’t start any negotiations with the third parties.
