Crimea invites Chinese investors in its oil and gas industry

The Crimean authorities are interested in Chinese investors that can take part in a number of promising projects related to the construction and oil and gas sector, said the chairman of the Crimean parliament’s committee of the economy, fiscal and tax policy, Vitaly Nakhlupin.

"Given the intensification of our relations with the countries of Asia, we certainly look forward to investment from China and those countries, with which we negotiate," - said Nakhlupin.

In particular, according to him, Chinese investments may be needed in the construction of roads, bridges and the oil and gas sector.

According to Nakhlupin, the flow of the investments in Crimea is restrained by the geopolitical situation, related to the introduction of sanctions against the republic, but the process, in his opinion, is short-lived.

"Now a unique opportunity is being created in the Crimea, a law on the special economic zone will enter into force, barriers for all business were reduced and of course, the company, which will be first on the Crimean peninsula, in fact, will have the majority of preferences," - said Nakhlupin.
