NLMK-Kaluga has produced 1 mln tons of steel

The electrometallurgical plant of the new generation NLMK-Kaluga (in the structure of the sort-rolling division of NLMK Group) has produced its millionth ton of steel.

NLMK-Kaluga was launched in July 2013. The basis of the project is the mini-plant that presupposes the foundation of the electric steelmaking and rolling production capacities near the sources of raw materials and the consumers of the finished goods.

The plant is located on the territory of the “Vorsino”industrial park in the Kaluga region near Moscow, the largest construction market of Russia. In general on the results of 2013 the stake of the central region of Russia was about 30% of sort-rolling goods consumption in Russia and only 9% of its production.
