Tajikistan. Oil and gas exploration started at East Supetau deposit

Oil and gas exploration at the perspective site East Supetau has started in Tajikistan (the Ashtsky district of the Sogdiysky region), the press service of the regional administration reports.
The Tajik – Swiss company “Somon Oil” (an affiliate of the Swiss Manas Petroleum) holds exploration together with the Tajik “Sugd Geo” AO. More than 150 specialists are involved at the deposit. Test drilling of the well will be held during the exploration works. There is still no information on the possible raw materials reserves. Oil and gas production hasn’t been ever held in this district.
According to the forecast of the Shanghai cooperation organization, about $56 mln should be invested into the realization of the investment project of the East Supetau development.
