Saipem/Azfen will be engaged with enlargement South-Caucasian pipeline in Azerbaijan and Georgia

The consortium for the Shah-Deniz deposit development in the Azeri sector of the Caspian Sea has announced on May 26t about closure of the large contract for the broadening of the South-Caucasian pipeline. The Vice President of BP- Azerbaijan for Shah-Deniz 2 development project, J. Drammon says that Saipem/Azfen will be engaged with the enlargement South-Caucasian pipeline in Azerbaijan and Georgia. The contract presupposes the broadening of a 428-km division in Azerbaijan and Georgia, the construction of the onshore objects and connecting joints. Besides from that, they will build in Georgia a pipeline division with length of 59 km and onshore objects. The total cost of the project is $735 million. They plan to start the work in January 2015, to mechanically finish the work in Georgia in 2016, and in Azerbaijan in 2017.
