Igor Sechin asserts claims of Rosneft for global status

The State-owned oil company Rosneft continues to prove to the market that it can be considered a major company. During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, its president Igor Sechin outlined the main directions of the company's strategy through until 2033. In 20 years Rosneft will be the largest offshore player, supplier of natural gas and LNG and trader, which will work in a variety of markets.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) continues to be the favourite ground of Rosneft for presentation of its plans and projects. In 2013, 30 agreements were signed at the forum, and a special counter was even installed on the company’s official web-site. This year, as sources of the Kommersant say, Igor Sechin was dissuaded from the counter. But the record was beaten - the company noted that it signed about 40 different agreements. Rosneft’s boardroom really stood out at the SPIEF: the staff of the state-owned company and members of its partners’ delegations were constantly around it. Sechin continued to negotiate on partnerships even during breaks of state receptions, arranged by the company.
