The first four wells will be drilled at the Kalmykia oil deposits

The joint venture of Lukoil and Tatneft are going to drill the first four wells at the Barrier site of the Tsekertinsky field in Kalmykia before 2017, and has allocated 4 billion rubles to the purpose, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Protection of Kalmykia, N. Ochirov says. The planned depth is 5,600 m. Last year the company started drilling at the Eastern-Biryuzaksky site of the Tsekertinsky field at the Jurassic layers. The planned depth was 4,000 m.

The Minister reminds that in 2013 Lukoil bought out from Tatneft 50% in Kalmtatneft CJSC. The co-owners began the program for geological prospecting and commercial development of the Tsekertinsky field. Under the program for development of the hydrocarbon field in Kalmykia for 2013-2020, they are going to invest 24 billion rubles on a parity basis. Lukoil began physical work on the project for construction of the main coastal objects and the system for oil and gas transporting from North Caspian deposits.
