Within one or two years SUEK is going to increase coal supplies to Japan by 29% to 4.5 million tons annually, the Vice President for Strategy of the Company A. Belova says. Their supplies to Japan were 3.5 million tons in 2010 and over 2 million tons in 2009. Mrs. Belova says that they are ready to supply more but there’re some restrictions in accepting logistics as some of the Japanese ports were destroyed. The Minister of Energy of Russia S. Shmatko claimed several times after the earthquake in Japan that coal supplies to the state from Russia would be enlarged.
