Ruspolymet to launch a forging unit costing 1.5 billion roubles in Q4

OAO “Ruspolymet” will put a forging unit of Italian “Danieli” into production in quarter 4, 2011, they stated in the company to PRIME-TASS.

The project's cost is assessed at 1.5 billion roubles. The open forging press of 1600 tons breaking strain, a rail-riding manipulator of 5 tons carrying capacity and a mobile manipulator of 12 tons lifting capacity form part of the unit. It will also comprise furnaces of “Bosio” manufacturer (Slovenia), such as box-type heating gas furnace and bogie-type thermal gas furnace.

The enterprise will get the possibility to manufacture forged pieces from carbonic, alloyed, heatproof and titanium steel and alloys for the aircraft industry and power-plant engineering, ship-building, machine building, steel industry and other sectors with the launch of the forging unit.

The design equipment allows forging ingot of maximum 900 mm diameter and 12 tons of maximum weight. “Ruspolymet” was created on the base of the Kulebaksky metallurgical plant and it is a plant on the output of ring blanks of special alloys and steel for stator and rotary parts of gas turbine engines and electric power installations.

The key consumers of commodities of OAO “Ruspolymet” are research and manufacturing association “Saturn”, the federal state unitary enterprise MMPP “Salyut”, MMPP by Chernyshev name, Perm Motor plant, the Ufa Engine Production Association, OAO “KMPO”, NPO “Energomash” and the federal state unitary enterprise “Votkinsky plant”. The company also supplies rings for exporting to Pratt&WhitneyCanada, Honeywell and ZKL Brno, BIBUS S.R.O.
