"Rosneft" can acquire a controlling stake in Essar Oil.

The Russian oil company "Rosneft" is currently conducting negotiations to acquire a controlling stake (50% plus 1 share) of the Indian company Essar Oil. Possible transaction price is estimated at $ 7-8 billion, according to experts, The Economic Times informs citing sources close to the course of negotiations.

Currently oil and natural gas company Essar Oil is included in the Indian group Essar. The latter, according to the publication, is under the control of brothers Shashi and Ravi Ruia. The second largest oil refinery in India is among the assets of the oil company.
