RusAl and Chinese Chalco signed a memorandum of understanding

A memorandum of understanding between UC RusAl and Chalco was signed in the Kremlin in a presence of the president of Russia V.Putin and China’s leader Xi Jinping.
China is one of main drivers of development of the world aluminium sector. RusAl anticipates an aluminium consumption increase in China by 10% in 2013, while it will go up by 15-20 million tons in the near 5 years. Amidst a price drop for aluminium, about 34.5% of aluminium plants in China operate at a loss, Interfax writes.
