Severstal increased steel output by 6% in 2014

In Q4 steel output rose 1% to 2.892 mln tons against Q3.

Severstal PJSC on the results of 2014 increased steel output by 6% to 11.302 mln tons against 2013, the company reports.

Cast iron output rose by 4% to 9.076 mln tons from 8.759 mln tons in 2013. The sale of coking coal concentrate in 2014 fell by a quarter to 5.371 mln tons, of steel products stayed at the level of 2013 and made up 10.593 mln tons, of iron ore pellets – rose by 2% against 2013 and made up 10.618 mln tons, iron ore concentrate – fell by 4% to 4.43 mln tons.

The average sales price in 2014 fell for the majority of products of Severstal. The price per a ton of hot-rolled plates fell by 6% to $486, coking coal concentrate – by 18% to $89, iron ore pellets – by 25% to $80, iron ore concentrate – by 26% to $55.
