State Duma adopts the LNG liberalization law

The State Duma has adopted the law aimed at the liberalization of the export LNG t within the second and the third readings.

In compliance with the law LNG export rights are provided to two new categories of the subsoil users other than the owner of the unified gas supply system or its 100% subsidiary (Gazprom).

Thus, the new law stipulates that LNG export becomes available to the companies the projects of which presupposed construction of an LNG plant or transportation of the extracted gas to LNG producing plants in the beginning of 2013.
