The first Arctic terminal for marine oil shipment mounted on Yamal

Gazpromneft has completed the installation of the Arctic terminal in the waters of the Gulf of Ob near Kamenny Cape on the Yamal Peninsula. The terminal is designed for year-round tankers loading with oil from the Novoportovskoye oil and gas field.

To ensure the work of the Arctic terminal on the coast of the Gulf of Ob a related infrastructure for shipping oil was built. It includes: land and underwater pipelines of over 10.5 km lenght, storage tanks, pumping stations to protect the system from water hammer, which minimizes the likelihood of leakage of the pipeline. The works on the installation of the terminal structure, the total height of which is more than 80 meters, were produced by one of the world's largest crane ships Oleg Strashnov with capacity of 5 thousand tons. It is planned that all the preparatory works will be completed in 2015, and at the beginning of next year, experts will begin comprehensive testing of the Arctic terminal, the maximum raw materials handling capacity of which will be more than 8.5 million tons per year.
