Gas price from Kirinsky deposit may be twice higher than the average price in Russia

The head of the department of Economic Expertise and Price Making of Gazprom, E. Karpel, in the letter addressed to the head of FST, S. Novikov, asks to approve the gas price from the Kirinsky deposit at the shelf of Sakhalin for the needs of the domestic market at the level of 4,000 roubles per thousand cubic m at the well, RBC report referring to the chairman of the agency. The tariff for transportation from the well to the gas distribution station as well as by local gas pipelines is added to this price that increases the price by another 40%. A source in Gazprom confirmed the calculated gas price stated in the letter and counted that finally it will cost 6,500-7,000 roubles per cubic m for consumers. In Q1 2014 the average price in Russia made up 3,534.8 roubles, is said in Gazprom’s report.
