Oil extraction in Tatarstan rose 3.4% in H1
The oil production in Tatarstan in H1 2014 rose 3.4% against H1 2013. The volume of superviscous oil production from the beginning of the year made up 400 thousand tons, the CEO of “Tatneftecheminvest-holding” OJSC, R. Yarullin, said at the meeting of the company’s Board of Directors.
Tatneft increased the oil production volume in H1 by 0.6%, the small oil companies of the republic – by 3%, the volume of superviscous oil production exceeded 400 thousand tons, Mr. Yarullin said. He added that the diesel fuel and grease oil production increased in the region. Meanwhile car fuel production in H1 is 21% lower than in H1 2013. It is due to the accident at the “Taif-NK” fuel plant at the beginning of the year. By the present time fuel production has been recovered in full, he said.
Tatneft is one of the largest oil companies of Russia. Its stake is about 8% of oil production in Russia and more than 80% of oil production in Tatarstan. In 2013 the company produced 26.1 mln tons of oil. At the beginning of 2014 the company launched the first in Tatarstan well for superviscous oil production from the Domanic layer with the capacity of 9 tons a day.
