First deputy CEO of “Norilsk Nickel” S.Dyachenko sums up interim results of a new strategy of the company

The First deputy CEO of “Norilsk Nickel” S.Dyachenko has taken a working visit to Norilsk. The main goal of the visit to the enterprises of the Transpolar branch of the company was the summing up of interim results of the new strategy of the company and the production performance of the company in H1, 2014.

As the newspaper “Zapolyarny vestnik” reports, the cash flow of the company increased by 5%. The availability of profitable production, exclusive of new ones, increased from 20 to 30 years. The company showed good financial results. It is the leader in the industry of Russia.

The production reconfiguration is one of the key tasks in the updated strategy of Norilsk Nickel. The most scale project is being realized at the Talnakh processing plant. Its productivity will increase up to 10 million tons of copper-nickel ore processing a year after the reconstruction of the production facilities. The quality of the concentrate and content of metals in the concentrate will also increase.

The operation is carried out according to the schedule, stated to Dyachenko. The first stage is to be finished by the end of the year, second stage – in 2015 and the start-up operations – in 2016.

Besides, there will be closed a nickel plant and the expansion of the Nadezhdinsky plant. At present a group of specialists work over the transference of the nickel capacities to other subdivisions of Norilsk Nickel. New refining capacities at Kola GMK are to be expanded by 2016.
