7 hydrocarbon sites to be explored in the Irkutsk region in 2014

The Russian Ministry of Natural Resources has approved a list of facilities, offered to be provided for the purpose of geological exploration at the expense of subsoil users in 2014.

According to this list, seven areas of hydrocarbons will be explored in the Irkutsk region.

In particular, this is the Leonovsky site, located in the territory of the Bratsk and Chusky districts (the area is 2.87 thousand square km). The site’s oil reserves of the D1 ​​category make up 0.3 million tons, D2 - 0.4 million tons, the gas reserves of the D1 category are 36.4 billion cubic meters, D2 - 7.3 billion cubic meters. The Bratsk reservoir, within which a special regime for economic and other activities is established, is partly located at the site.

The Vihorevsky site is located in the Chunsky and Bratsk districts, its area is ​​2.509 thousand square km. The site’s oil reserves of the D1​ ​category are estimated at 0.1 million tons, D2 - 0.6 million tons; the gas reserves of the D1 category - 33 billion cubic meters, D2 - 12.8 billion cubic meters.
