Chelyabinsk zinc plant zinc output by 45.5 thousand tons in Q1

​The stake of the Chelyabinsk zinc plant is over 60% of Russian and about 2% of the world zinc production.

The Chelyabinsk zinc plant in Q1 2016 increased the output of zinc and alloys on its basis by 1.3% to 45.5 thousand tons against Q1 2015.

About 55% of metal was sold in the Russian market (2015-65%).

Nova Zinc LLP (operator of the lead-zinc deposit Akzhal in Kazakhstan) that belongs to the same group of people as Chelyabinsk zinc plant, produced 8.99 thousand tons of zinc in concentrate, which is by 1.1% more, increased the output of lead in concentrate – by 1% to 1.86 thousand tons.

The affiliate of Chelyabinsk zinc plant - The Brock Metal Company (producer of zinc alloys for casting under pressure in the UK) – sold 9.4 thousand tons of zinc alloys, by 2% lower than in Q1 2015.

In 2015 Chelyabinsk zinc plant produced 171 thousand tons of saleable zinc.
