Gazpromneft doesn’t want to invest in shelf

According to the company, investments in offshore exploration are unprofitable, we need tax breaks.

This is stated in a letter about the development of offshore projects by Gazpromneft’s deputy general director Andrei Patrushev to the Ministry of Natural Resources dated March 3. He writes that the tax maneuver, sanctions and fallen oil prices have a negative impact on the ability of companies to invest in offshore exploration. Gazpromneft has decided to find out how to remedy the situation taking into account several constraints: the companies should receive real money, and investment attractiveness of the project should increase; direct financing and (or) partial reimbursement of expenses from the budget are unlikely, finally, the changes shouldn’t lead to a significant shortfall in budget incomes.
