NIOST develops technical support function of the Directorate of SIBUR base polymers.

In NIOST, SIBUR’s research centre for chemical technologies, the group has begun work on the technical support of the Directorate of base polymers. The group included both "Tomskneftekhim" employees merged into NIOST, who earlier performed this function in their company as part of scientific and technical centre, and the research laboratory workers on synthesis of plastics and polymer composites.

The group was tasked with the development of new and the improvement of currently shipping grades of polyolefins to provide the characteristics required by the clients, as well as close to the properties of the best Russian and foreign counterparts. In addition, the Group monitors the market demand product mix in order to track the prospects for expanding the SIBUR product line. The list of work areas and a group testing new catalyst systems for the synthesis of the polyolefins, in particularly non-phthalate magnesium - titanium catalysts.
