Uzbekistan to start the production of shale gas

Uzbekistan has announced the start of the drilling for shale gas at the Sangruntau deposit in the region of the north of Navoi, the CA-NEWS reports. The project of the development of shale gas in Central Asia at the cost of $600 million will allow it to compensate the fall in the oil production in Uzbekistan and decrease dependence of the country on the oil import from Kazakhstan.
