Construction of a LNG-terminal is not urgent for the country this moment, acting Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of the Ukraine E.Stavitsky reported.

“I think, that we don’t need a LNG-terminal now and for the amount, which was called previously. There are more real ways to diversify gas supplies – its re-export from the European Union’s countries and the extraction of shale gas,” – he noted.

The Ukraine hopes to receive about 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the gas re-export from Slovakia, but the contract hasn’t been signed by the Slovakian party yet.

Shale gas projects may be implemented not earlier than in spring of 2015.
