In 2012, the Krasnoyarsk region increased oil production by 21.6% to 18.5 million tons

In 2012, the Krasnoyarsk region has increased the oil production by 21.6% as compared to 2011 to 18.473 million tons, the Krasnoyarsk Statistics Committee reported.

The production of natural and associated gas grew by 9.1% to 2.43 billion cubic meters.

According to the region’s Government, the reached growth is mainly a result of the development of the Vankorneft’s oil production. The company develops the Vankor deposit in the north of the Krasnoyarsk region, the RIA Novosti reports.

According to the forecasts of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk region, in 2012 18.2 million tons of oil and condensate were proposed to be produced, and in 2013 – 25.5 million tons.
