Verkhovna Rada ties rent to import gas price

The Verkhovna Rada has adopted the bill №3073 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of еру Ukraine (the creation of prerequisites for a new model of the natural gas market) in general," which, in particular, involves the binding of a rental fee to the actual import price of gas. At the same, the rent for Ukrgasdobycha will be set on the basis of the selling price of gas for Naftogaz Ukrainy. The size of the rent fee will be set by the State Fiscal Service.

232 deputies voted "for" adoption of the bill.

The bill in parliament was represented by the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Vladimir Demchishin. He noted that this document was technical and its approval was connected with the law "On the gas market", entered in force. "The concept of "limiting price", previously set by the Energy and Unilities the National Regulatory Commission, is canceled. The rent for Ukrgasdobycha will be set on the basis of the price of settlements between Ukrgasdobycha and Naftogaz. Other commercial providers will pay the rent in accordance with the average market price of imported gas. The calculation will be carried out by the State Fiscal Service,"- said the Minister.
