Consortium, headed by Hyundai, to construct gas processing plant in Uzbekistan for Lukoil

A consortium, headed by South Korean Hyundai Engineering Co, has won a tender for construction of a gas processing plant and provision of necessary facilities at the Kandim group of fields in Uzbekistan, developed by Lukoil, to the amount of $2.66 billion, the decision of Uzbek President, published on Monday, reports.

The decree approved the proposal of the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz and Lukoil Overseas Uzbekistan Ltd. to accelerate the process of concluding a contract with the consortium. The first phase of the Kandym gas processing plant will be launched before July 1, 2018, the document reported. The Uzbek President instructed Uzbekneftegaz together with Lukoil Overseas Uzbekistan Ltd. to submit the feasibility study of the project for approval to the Government before April 1, 2015 in accordance with established procedure.
