Romania wants to receive Azerbaijani gas through Bulgaria

The Romanian company Transgaz wants to receive gas from Azerbaijan via Bulgaria.

And Transgaz intends to sell this gas in Europe. This was reported by the Bulgarian mass media with reference to chairman of the Transgaz’s Board, B.Iliesku.

B.Iliesku noted that the transportation of gas was possible after the completion of gas branches, Bulgaria-Greece and Bulgaria-Romania. Azerbaijani gas from the Trans Adriatic Pipeline will be transported via them.

Moreover, Azerbaijani gas will be supplied through Bulgaria to Romania, then to Hungary, and then gas will reach the European market in Austria.
The Transgaz’s head believes that this route will be a part of the Southern Gas Corridor. Using it, European countries will receive natural gas from the Caspian region.
