Production at the Vankor field may be less than expected

The large-scale plans of Rosneft have become different from reality. The production volume at one of its largest fields, the Vankor one, may be less than it was expected. The Vankor field is the main raw material source for provision of dramatically increasing oil supplies from Russia to China. To date, the lag in the planned production hasn’t exceeded 2% of Rosneft’s total production, and analysts don’t consider this level critical – they think that the Vankor field will be able to be brought to the maximum volume, although later, than it was planned.

By the end of the year, the company will receive 21.3 million tons of oil instead of 25 million tons, which were announced, at the Vankor field. Rosneft declined to comment on this forecast; a source of the Kommersant, who is familiar with the project’s figures, called this data “imprecise”, but refused to report the real one.
