In H1, Chelyabinsk zinc plant increased zinc production by 2.53% to 87.649 thousand tons

In the first six months of 2014, Chelyabinsk zinc plant increased the production of commercial zinc of Special High Grade (SHG) and its alloys by 2.53% to 87.649 thousand tons from 85.489 thousand tons per year, the plant reports.

52.7% of the total volume of produced metal were sold on the Russian market. In the previous year, the sales made up 70.8%.

Nova Zinc (operator of the Akzhal lead-zinc deposit, Kazakhstan), which belongs to the same group as the Chelyabinsk zinc plant, increased the production of zinc concentrate by 13.24% to 17.936 tons from 15.839 thousand tons, and lead concentrate by 529.04% to 3.026 thousand tons from 2.345 thousand tons
