EC wants the Ukraine to purchase Russian gas again

The European Commission plans to support the negotiations between Russia and the Ukraine to reach an agreement on the gas supplies, the Vice-President of the European Committee G. Oettinger said.
He said he did no think he would manage to meet with the Minister of Energy of Russia, A. Novak, to discuss the gas issue this week. It is not a priority goal for him due to the events in the Ukraine. This meeting was supposed to determine the date of the 3-party meeting with the Ukraine to consider the issue of the gas supply.
G. Oettinger also said that in the near future the European Commission will go on doing its best so that the agreement between Russia and the Ukraine was reached.
