The Russian government approves the launch of the "organized gas trading".

Natural gas can now be traded not only on stock exchanges, but also on the electronic trading platforms, according to a government decree. These trades will allow "Gazprom" to compete with the independent gas producers in selling a portion of their volume at tariffs below the FTS. But these trades will not cause more interest, because the gas market is quite competitive, analysts state, RBC daily informs.

The RF Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree "On amendments to certain acts of the Government of the Russian Federation on the implementation of gas trading", which makes it possible to resume gas spot trading. It has removed the contradictions in previous documents, because of which it was impossible to run these auctions.
