UC Rusal is not going to close its Russian plants

This year UC Rusal is going to decline aluminum production by 300,000 tons compared to 4.172 million tons in 2012 but alumina production will be balanced, the First Vice CEO of UC Rusal V. Solovyov says. However UC Rusal is not going to close its Russian plants. The company re-profiles capacities to car component production at the Vokhov aluminum plant, and the plant remains capacities for production of 18,000 tons of primary aluminum. They discuss purchase of Ondsky GES at the Nadvoitsky plant, and it will be re-profiled to foil production; it will produce 35,000 tons of primary aluminum.
