Gazprom not eager to lose monopoly for pipeline gas exports

Gazprom thinks it’s necessary to keep its monopoly for pipeline gas exports. It is for the strengthening of control of the state over the projects for the construction of the LNG plants by the independent gas producers, the director of the department for coordination of the Eastern projects of Gazprom, V. Timoshilov says. At the beginning of 2014, the state agreed to the changes in the law bringing about about the liberalization of LNG exports. Pipeline gas exports remain the monopoly right of Gazprom.
