Statoil has postponed plans in the Barents Sea for 2 years

​Statoil decided to postpone the development of deposits in the Barents Sea until 2017, Bloomberg reports referring o the executive Vice-President for exploration, T. Dodson.

The company might decide to reduce the number of wells at which the works will be held at the shelf of Norway. In 2016 due to the shutdown of exploration in the Barents Sea, there was the price fall for oil.

The Vice-President said that the number of wells is likely to be reduced.

Statoil held works at 16 wells this year, in 2014 – at 21 wells.

The drilling in the Barents Sea this year was postponed due to the results of the exploratory drilling around the deposit in 2014. It was found out that the expected oil volumes were absent.
