Yakutia increased gold mining by 6.4%, diamond – by 15% in Jan-September 2015

​In Jan-September 2015 the subsoil users of Sakha (Yakutia) increased gold mining by 6.4% against the same period in 2014 to 20.608 tons, diamonds – by 15.1% to 28.2 mln karats, the Minister of Industry of Yakutia, A. Panov, said.

In Jan-September 2015 diamonds worth $75.051 mln were produced – by 37% less than in Jan-September 2014. Panov explained the reduction of diamonds production by the demand fall in the markets of China and Europe.

Jewelry items for 1.17 bln roubles were produced in Yakutia in Jan-September 2015 – by 77% more than in Jan-September 2014.

All diamonds in Yakutia are produced by the enterprises of Alrosa group.
