Russian Steel enterprises increased rolled steel production

The enterprises, the members of the Russian Steel non-commercial partnership made 4.55 million tons of rolled steel in August, by 0.7% more than in July 2013 and by 2.8% less than in August 2012. In January – August, rolled steel production declined by 2.7% to 36.21 million tons. The decline is connected with the unstable demand at the external markets, whereas dispatch to the Russian market increased by 0.9% to 21.16 million tons in January – August. In August, growth in sales to the internal market was 4.6% to 2.76 million tons.

In January – August, exports declined by 7.4% to 15.5 million tons. In August, it declined by 6.7% to 1.79 million tons versus August 2012 and by 4.8% versus July 2013.
