Mass media: Yanukovich has to answer Putin with what company and on what terms Ukraine will cooperate in the sphere of oil and gas

By the end of the week Vladimir Putin will arrive in Kiev. The Russian leader will discuss the most urgent gas problems with Ukrainian President, as the prolonged vagueness about the gas transportation consortium can result in a new gas crisis, Nezavisimaya Gazeta reports.

“Whatever has been reported officially, the situation with Ukrainian relations with Gazprom can not be avoided in the discussions”, the Head of energy programs of NOMOS centre, Mikhail Gonchar reported. As he has reminded, Russian party has been keeping low profile about the foundation of the gas transportation consortium since the spring, as Ukraine was supposed to provide for the guarantees in the form of the law providing access to privatization or leasing of the gas transportation system.
