EP KazMunaiGaz achieves 20-times reduction of penalty

Exploration Production KazMunaiGas and Embamunaigaz (EMG) have appealed the results of inspection of the Atyrau region’s prosecutor and the penalty of the Ecology Department of the Atyrau region dated January 15, 2014 on the recovery of damages to the environment in the amount 37.2 billion tenges ($201 million), the Total.kz’s correspondent reports, referring to the press centre of the producing company.
The issue was considered by the Prosecutor General Office of Kazakhstan and Specialized Interdistrict Economic Court of the Atyrau region.
