China to buy coal in Yakutia

According to the press centre of the Yakutia’s Government, a 40-ton crane has been mounted in the sea port of Pevek for shipment of Yakut hardcoal to China. It will be exported to China via the Northern Sea Route, a representative of the Administration of the Chukotka’s Chaunsk region specified.

“Chinese workers mounted it to transship small fraction coal from the Zyryansk coal open-cast in Yakutia to vessels that will deliver the production to China for metallurgic enterprises. The sea port of Pevek, as the most mechanized and deep-water port of the eastern part of the Arctic, will become terminal point en route to Changhai,” – the report says.
