“Yamal-LNG” and BP concluded an export contract

The Russian supplier of liquefied natural gas “Yamal-LNG” has concluded an export agreement with BP for the first time, Vedomosti writes citing Interfax. Only “Gazprom” can supply LNG abroad, but the government of the Russian Federation is ready to make concessions on specific contracts.

The European subsidiary of NOVATEK (Novatek Gas & Power) and the second owner of “Yamal LNG” (French Total) will be the final buyers of gas, the agency reports. The second source of the agency states that the agreements have been concluded on a supply of gas both to the Asian and European markets. NOVATEK was about to launch the plant on LNG production in Yamal by 2017.
