Rosnedra has refused to hold an auction for Targay coal deposit in Kemerovo region

​Rosnedra will not hold an auction for a site of the coal deposit Targay in the Kemerovo region.

It was planned to hold coal mining by the open-pit method at the site.

The site is located 11 km of Novokuznetsk, its area is about 3 sq km, T mark coal reserves – 20-25 mln tons.

Previously the Governor of the Kemerovo region, A. Tuleev, addressed the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia asking to terminate the preparation for the auction by the Targay coal site.

The subsoil site is located near inhabited places and places of recreation and a federal road passes through it.

Such a position of the site doesn’t allow to develop it without a loss for the ecology and quality of life of people.

In 2015, 215 mln tons of coal were extracted in Kuzbass.
