On the results of 2014 Russia is the 6th in the world by steel production volumes

In 2014 the steel making in the world made up 1.662 bln tons. The growth of volumes in the annual terms is 1.2%, World Steel Association said in the annual report.

The first steel production country is traditionally China – 822.7 mln tons (+0.9% against 2013). Then come Japan (110.7 mln tons), USA (88.3 mln tons), India (83.2 mln tons) and South Korea (71 mln tons).

The metallurgical sector of Russia became the 6th by the volumes of steel making with the results of 70.7 mln tons (+2.6% against 2013).
