New metallurgic plant starts to work in Tyumen

Tyumen, where nobody thought about metallurgy previously, has received its own electric furnace plant.

What is investor, who invested more than twenty billion rubles into the project, guided by? The fact that the Tyumen region is the pantry of ferrous scrap. It is very cost effective to melt it here, without taking out the region.

At least one million tons of mixed metal scrap is formed every year in the industrial south of the Tyumen region, in autonomous oil and gas districts. About 70% of the collection will fall to Yugra, where a huge volume of metal structures is used by oil and geological exploration companies. Just a process of oil pipes replacing gives hundreds of thousands tons of scrap metal. On the whole, according to experts, the total reserves of this “dump" raw materials exceed 100 million tons in the region.
