Foreign investments in gas extraction at Turkmen shelf make up more than 10 billion USD

Foreign investments into the extraction of natural gas in Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea exceeded $10 billion.

Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd from Malaysia is the largest investor – about $7.5 billion over 17 years.

The company started extracting oil and gas in 2006. As of the end of 2012, it extracted 1 million tons of oil and 1.5 billion cubic metres of natural gas.
