Gazprom offers gas discount for Slovakia

Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has offered to decrease the import price of Russian gas.

“On the results of the meeting of the Gazprom’s CEO, Alexei Miller with the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico in Bratislava, Gazprom offered the Slovakian gas company (SPP) to make amendments in the current contract, in accordance to which Slovakia will receive gas at cheaper price,” – the Ukrinform cites the Slovakian newspaper Hospodarske Noviny.

Note, SPP’s representatives confirmed fact of negotiations on amendments in the fuel supply contract, but the Russian company declined to comment.

It should be recalled that in 2011 Gazprom decreased the gas prices for the Slovakian company, but then the discount rate wasn’t disclosed too.
