CNPC and Uzbekistan to create new joint venture on construction of the 4th branch of main gas pipeline to China

The new line, which will be laid through 5 countries - Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and China - will increase the total capacity of the main gas pipeline to 85 billion cubic meters per year.

The agreement on the establishment of the joint venture on a parity basis was signed yesterday during the visit of the Uzbek President, Islam Karimov to China; the constituent documents may be signed before the end of 2014.
