Plant for 6 million tons of oil to be built in Tatarstan

Today, Acting President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the framework of his working visit to Ufa took part in the opening ceremony of the V International Business Forum "Big Chemistry", the press centre of the President of Tatarstan reports. The forum aims to discuss the development strategy of the Russian petrochemical industry in the new economic and political conditions.

Speaking at the plenary session, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that today Tatarstan was one of the leading petrochemical regions of Russia. The strategy of socio-economic development of Tatarstan through until 2030 determines petrochemical complex and machinery the main points of the growth, said the Acting President of Tatarstan. Speaking of problems, Rustam Minnikhanov said that this year Tatarstan plans to launch a new chemical complex Ammonium for the production of methanol, fertilizers and nitrogen compounds. He added that the republic started to build "a plant for 6 million tons" - a plant for processing 6 million tons of oil per year. This project will fully provide polymer manufacturers of Tatarstan with raw materials.
