Japan again hints on construction of gas pipeline from Russia

Japan again talks about the need to "start serious dialogue" on the construction of a gas pipeline from Sakhalin to the central part of Japan.

New proposals to discuss the construction of the gas pipeline from Russia to Japan have again voiced by the Japanese side. During the session "Energy", held within the third Russian-Japanese forum "Common Ground: business, investment, sports" in Tokyo, advisor to the corporation Tokyo Gas Shigeru Muraki, in particular, said: "It is time for Japan and Russia to seriously think about the construction of the pipeline. The construction cost could be around $3.7 billion, and the length - about 1.5 thousand km. I propose to begin a serious dialogue on the issue of the construction of such pipeline".
